Just outside Radda in Chianti, between Siena and Florence, Tenuta di Carleone di Castiglioni is a place where history, tradition, and passion meet. The estate covers approximately 247 acres of wooded hills, small rivers, fertile plains, and ancient olive trees, including around 74 acres of Sangiovese vineyards, some over 60 years.
Founded in 2012 by Karl Egger and his family, with winemaker Sean O’Callaghan (“Il Guercio”), the winery is dedicated to crafting small-batch, artisanal Sangiovese and rosato wines that reflect the true character of the Chianti region. Nestled among historic hamlets, including Castiglioni and the farmhouse Pian Vecchio, the estate combines careful vineyard management with minimal intervention in the cellar: nothing is added, and no commercial yeasts or fining agents are used.
Every bottle from Tenuta di Carleone tells the story of the land, the care of its growers, and the rich heritage of Chianti, offering a genuine and memorable taste of Tuscany.
