Founded by Deirdre Heekin and her husband Caleb Barber, Domaine La Garagista is located on Mount Hunger at the edge of the Chateauguay Forest in Vermont. The estate comprises five parcels, including vineyards in the Champlain Valley, planted on ancient clay, limestone, and volcanic soils. They focus on cold-hardy hybrid grapes like Frontenac, Brianna, and Marquette.
Deirdre’s winemaking emphasizes minimal intervention, producing authentic, expressive wines that showcase the terroir of Vermont’s mountains and valleys. The winery also welcomes visitors at its tasting room in West Addison, offering a chance to experience these distinctive wines firsthand.
