Located in the tiny Carema DOC of just 16 hectares, Monte Maletto cultivates 1.2 hectares (3 acres) of steep, terraced vineyards. After post-war decline, Gian Marco Viano and a handful of producers revived the region. Grapes are trained on pergolas, maximizing sun exposure and airflow, resulting in rare, expressive Nebbiolo wines that fully reflect Carema’s singular terroir and the dedication of its few remaining winemakers.
