Paul Old, owner of Les Clos Perdus, cherishes his centenarian vines, whose gnarled forms defy the uniformity of modern agriculture. Over decades, even a century, these vines have shaped themselves, producing unique and expressive wines, even in challenging vintages, thanks to their deep, twisted roots.
In 2002, Paul began rescuing old parcels threatened with uprooting, ultimately acquiring 32 plots across 50 acres in three distinct terroirs: the coastal Corbières Maritime, the elevated Haut Corbières, and the foothills of the eastern Pyrenees. Each vineyard reflects its environment, creating wines that are a true expression of history, place, and patience.
