Contrada Contro is a small organic winery nestled in the foothills of the Monti Sibillini in Italy’s Marche region, between the villages of Gualdo and Sarnano. Founded by Andrea Polidoro, a winemaker who trained in Bordeaux and Montalcino before returning home, the project is rooted in the revival of old, ungrafted vines and forgotten mountain vineyards.

Working with tiny parcels of heritage varieties such as Trebbiano, Malvasia di Candia, Verdicchio, and small amounts of local reds, Andrea farms organically and follows a hands-off approach both in the vineyard and the cellar. Fermentations occur spontaneously, and the wines are bottled without filtration, allowing their purity and sense of place to shine through.

The wines of Contrada Contro are vibrant, honest, and expressive — mountain-born wines that reflect the rugged beauty of the Marche and the quiet determination of a new generation of Italian winemakers.
