It all began back in 1886 when Paolo Conterno founded the Ginestra estate in the beautiful setting of Monforte d’Alba in the province of Cuneo. The Ginestra area is counted among the most important quality plots in the Langa, with a unique terroir of ab-solute prestige. As a tireless worker and mind of great intuition, he allocated the most favourable parts of the Ginestra hill for cultivation, subdividing them by type, exposure and soil. The Paolo Conterno winery has pursued the aspiration of perfection in wine production and the idea of realising things in their true essence for four generations, always faithful to tradition. Today, it is Giorgio Conterno who runs the company, carrying on the same passion for winemaking.
