In the heart of Gattinara, Mauro Franchino, assisted by his nephew Alberto Raviciotti, crafts a single, exceptional wine from three of the appellation’s most renowned vineyards: Lurghe, Castelle, and Guardia. Planted entirely with 100% Nebbiolo on shallow, acidic soils derived from Alpine porphyry, these vines give the wine its distinctive elegance, structure, and mineral character.
Made in a historic cellar in the center of Gattinara, Mauro follows the traditional methods taught by his father, combining artisanal skill, deep viticultural knowledge, and a refined palate. The result is a wine that expresses the land, the legacy of the family, and the timeless character of Gattinara, capturing the very essence of this historic Piedmontese appellation.
