Founded in 1885, Balgera Winery is a family-run estate at the heart of Valtellina, one of Italy’s most spectacular wine regions. Here, the Chiavennasca (local Nebbiolo) thrives alongside Pignola, Brugnola, and Rossola, producing elegant, age-worthy wines that reflect the unique character of the region.
Under the guidance of Paolo Balgera, the estate crafts expressive and fragrant wines from Valtellina’s most renowned crus: Inferno, Sassella, Valgella, and Grumello. The wines are made with traditional methods, aged in old cement vats and large 100-hectoliter oak barrels, allowing each bottle to showcase the elegance, complexity, and distinctive terroir of Valtellina.
Balgera Winery stands as a testament to tradition, care, and the timeless appeal of Valtellina’s Nebbiolo-based wines.
