Albatreti is rooted in family heritage and a passion for the exceptional terroir of Montalcino. The estate takes its name from Podere Albatreti, derived from “albatro”, the Tuscan name for the Corbezzolo or strawberry tree, which once covered the hills surrounding the vineyards. The Salvioni family has long owned a remarkable plot on the hills of Montalcino, rich in galestro soil and exposed to the southwest, at 1,312–1,640 feet above sea level. Accessing the vineyard was challenging due to the dense forest of Corbezzolo, but their dedication has brought the land to life.
In 1995, they began working the first vineyard, Vigna Fitta, together with Mario Bizzarri, marking the start of their adventure into winemaking. By 1999, they had taken on the larger Salvioni family plot, carefully expanding the vineyard area while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and tradition.
Today, Albatreti produces fragrant, fresh, and juicy Rosso di Montalcino, alongside Brunello di Montalcino with remarkable aromatic complexity and texture. Each bottle is a true expression of the land, the family’s heritage, and the timeless care devoted to this exceptional Montalcino terroir.
